Jeffrey Dunbar jailed for rape
A man who raped and assaulted a woman in Ilkeston has been sentenced to five years for his crimes.
Jeffrey Dunbar, 36, of Church Street, in Ilkeston, was found guilty of the charges at Derby Crown Court.
Dunbar had denied raping the 33-year-old woman in January last year. In addition to his prison sentence he will be on the Sexual Offenders Register for life.
DC Teresa Daniels, who investigated the case, said: “It’s thanks to the bravery of the victim in this case that Dunbar is now in prison.
“Anyone who is raped should have the confidence to come forward to the police or a support agency that will be able to help them.”
